Tehran Quintet

The Tehran Quintet was established in the fall of 2016 by Alireza Chehrehghani, Shahrzad Jafari, Farzan Falakdehi, Mehrdad Mehdi and Mohammad Reza Jabbar, and began its activities with the aim of performing the works of Astor Piazzolla. After several performances in the winter of 2017, pianist Soroush Sadeghi replaced Shahrzad Jafari. After having different performances in Tehran, Isfahan, Rasht and Clarabad, Quintet Tehran was able to attract the audience of this style of music. In December 2019, during a ceremony, The first album called “Oblivion” unveiled and released.  This album is dedicated to the recording works by Astor Piazzolla in the form of quintet.

The album “Oblivion” won the Akademia Music Awards in January 2021 and also won a silver medal at the Global Music Awards in 2020 in two categories: Best Ensemble and Best Album.
